WAY OF LIFE, formerly known as MORNING GLORY, is a Super Maxi 86 with a remarkable global racing legacy. Constructed by Mc Conaghy Boats in 2003, this groundbreaking canting keel Super Maxi has made its mark in the USA and Mediterranean Maxi racing circuits.
Originally named MORNING GLORY and designed alongside PYEWACKET, this vessel embraced cutting-edge technology and the principles of the CBTF (Canting Ballast Twin Foil) at the time. Her immediate victories in prestigious offshore events drew global attention to canting keel technology. Notably, her hull design, while narrower compared to modern racing yachts, relies heavily on the canting keel for stability.
A standout feature of this yacht is its clever rotating canard or forward rudder, operated at the helm either independently or in conjunction with the main rudder, showcasing a highly innovative system. While she may not dominate on reaches, she excels in Velocity Made Good (VMG), flat water, and remains competitive alongside the world’s top racing yachts.
Rebranded as VESPER PI, this yacht claimed line honors against some of the Mediterranean's fastest Maxis and demonstrated its competitiveness in the 2019 Rolex Capri Sailing Week. Subsequently, it emerged as a top performer in the renowned Barcelona race.
Under new ownership, WAY OF LIFE has received substantial investment in recent years, including the replacement of PBO standing rigging in 2019, reducing weight aloft, and an expanded sail wardrobe.
